Growing Up WILD™; Exploring Nature with Young Children with Special Needs
This unique training will combine the Growing Up WILD curriculum with disability awareness and provide ways to adapt activities for children with special needs. Environmental Recreation & Education Coordinator, Valerie Sage, and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist®, Kuenzi Dearth, will team together for a very special opportunity to provide hands-on nature-based activity curriculum and experiences to educators, caregivers and parents that work with early childhood or lower elementary children with special needs.
Time: 9:00 am–3:30 pm

Growing Up WILD™; Exploring Nature with Young Children
This workshop will feature fun, hands-on activities and ideas for infusing nature and wildlife into your programs with 3-7 year olds. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the nationally recognized Sugar Grove Nature Play area, and enjoy s’mores by the campfire.
Time: 10:00 am–2:00 pm
Location: Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove, McLean
